Lake County DUI Lawyer for Breath & Blood Tests
DUI Defense Attorney for Lake County & Nearby Areas
Breath and blood tests for DUI in Lake County, and all of Illinois, fall under the implied consent laws. If you have a driver's license, you have given implied consent to take a breathalyzer or other breath test, blood or urine test and/or other DUI sobriety test at the request of a law enforcement officer. If you have been arrested for DUI after taking a breath, blood or urine test, it is crucial that you contact a Lake County DUI defense attorney right away. Attorney Bernardo Isacovici is a criminal defense lawyer who knows DUI law inside and out. He aggressively defends clients in Lake County, Northern Cook County, McHenry County and nearby areas. He may be able to help you or someone you love avoid steep fines and punishment associated with a DUI.
The breathalyzer test can be done by a police officer at the location where a suspected drunk driver is pulled over. The driver is asked to blow into a tube attached to the breathalyzer and then the breath is analyzed for percent alcohol content. If the reading is at or above the legal limit of 0.08, the driver can be arrested and his license suspended for drunk driving. There are other devices for measuring breath alcohol content such as a BAC Datamaster, Intoximeter, Intoxilyzer, etc. All are used in a similar manner.
A blood or urine test is done at a qualified medical facility. A blood sample (or urine sample) is taken and analyzed in a lab for alcohol or drug concentration. Failing one of these tests can also lead to DUI charges.
